My name is Jacquelyn, I am the Senior Supervisor at the Cottage. I first started working at the YMCA Valleyview Childcare Centre in 1988. In 1993 I was part of the changeover to Kid’s Cottage Daycare, non Profit Society. During the last 30 years I have been a member of the team to expand the center from a solely 3-5 program to a thriving Out of School Care and Infant Toddler Program. I have completed my ECE training  while working at the Cottage and recently went back to school to complete my Infant/Toddler and Special Needs Certification. I have one son with whom I love to travel and visit new and interesting places.

I am Kathy, the Assistant Supervisor, and I have been part of the Kid’s Cottage team since 1997. I have my ECE certification along with a diploma in Special Needs and Infant Toddler Development. I work in the  Infant Toddler Program, and assume Supervisor duties in the afternoons. Like Jacquelyn, I had the benefit of growing with the center from a 3-5 aged program to a center that caters to Infants, Toddlers, and Out of School Care aged children.

I really enjoy being outdoors with family and friends, hiking, biking. In the winter season you can find me in the Yoga studio or at the rink playing recreational hockey. My long term goals are to take some classes in business and do a little more traveling.

My Name is Marie. Since I was very young I have known that I wanted to work with children. After high school I enrolled at Douglas College, where I completed me Early Childhood Education. I started working at the Cottage in 2001 in the Out of School Care Program. I now enjoy my days in the 3-5 daycare program.

 

In my free time I enjoy working in the garden, walking the dog and reading.  I also enjoy taking Zumba classes. I love spending time with my family and friends.  I have two older brothers three nieces and one nephew.

My name is Saira. I have been part of the Kids Cottage team since 2001. After completing my ECE certification and special needs diploma at Douglas College,  I began working in the Out of School Care program and several years after that, I worked in the 3-5 program. I returned to college to complete my Infant Toddler diploma and shorty after joined the Infant Toddler room where I currently teach.

My family and I keep very busy camping and coaching our kids in their various sports.  I am also able to fulfil my passion of playing and coaching ringette. My long term goal is to take a trip of a lifetime with 15 of my close high school girlfriends to celebrate our 40th birthdays.

Hi there, I am Sunny. I have studied Early Childhood Education in university and obtained ECE, IT and SN certificates. Since graduation, I have been working with children for 20 years as an educator in Korea and Canada. I spend my time at Kids Cottage in the Infant Toddler Program and I love the energy they bring and being able to see them grow and develop new skills every day is a great experience. Not only that, I am growing with them and learning from my little friends. 

I love to travel and I have visited 16 countries. I hope my adventures continue because I like experiencing new things such as cultures and food. I moved here from Alberta in 2020, I have recently been exploring new places in B.C and filling my weekends with paddle boarding and camping.

Hello, My name is Yoon, I am originally from South Korea, I am a mom of a 20 year old son and live with my partner and a dog. I used to be an ECE and EA in South Korea. After coming to Canada I finished the ECE diploma course at Sprott Shaw College. I have been working with children for over 15 years.

 

My favorite thing about working with children is getting to be a part of your child’s lives throughout the day. I love dancing with children and watching them learn and have fun. In my free time I enjoy Happy hour time, shopping, reading and motorcycle riding. I am so excited to join the team at Kid’s cottage Daycare Society!

Hi there, I am Dawn.  I began working at Kid’s Cottage in July 2017. I ran a licensed family daycare for 12 years. As my children grew and became more independent. I decided to take my Early Childhood Education. I also completed my post basic certification in Infant/toddler and Special needs.

 

I worked at Simon Fraser University for nearly six years and have learned a lot during my time there. I am looking forward to my new adventure with Kid’s Cottage Childcare. I hope that I can bring forth my love of creating documentation with children. I feel as educator’s we are all co-learners and we can not only teach the children but learn from them as well.

Hello! My name is Priscilla , and I’m excited to be part of the team of Kid's Cottage Daycare Society! I’m a recent Arts graduate originally from Mexico, and I’ve spent the past years gaining experience working with children, something I’m truly passionate about. I love creating a caring, playful environment where kids feel encouraged to explore, learn, and grow.

In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, traveling, and spending time with my friends and family.

I believe that staying curious and having a love for learning is very important, and I try to bring that energy into everything I do with the children. I’m looking forward to many fun and memorable moments ahead!

Hello! My name is Mia, I came from South Korea in 2014. I got my license from MTI Community college after completing their ECE program with Infant Toddler and special needs.

I have been working as an infant toddler teacher ever since graduation. I am very delighted to be a part of the Kid's Cottage Daycare team working as a part time teacher, I am looking forward to having a great time with the daycare's lovely children.

I enjoy reading books, walking my dog, window shopping for vintage plates, and taking care of my community garden plot.

My name is Kirstin and I began working at Kid's Cottage in November 2018 as a substitute teacher, but now I work in the out of school care program. I have always had a passion for working with children.

 

I grew up in a big, close family with a lot of cousins, one of which had Autism and he was my inspiration for working with children. I am working toward going back to school to further my career as a child care educator. I enjoy spending my free time with my friends and family outdoors usually with our dogs, or a
good old fashioned family game night.

My name is Mikayla, I have been working at Kid’s Cottage the last 2 summers as a substitute teacher while working as an EA for SD43. I have recently made decision to switch over to Kids Cottage Childcare full time as an Out of School Care Teacher and will be going back to school to earn my ECE. I have always loved working and teaching children from a young age I have a passion for using my creative and artistic skills to make projects and activities fun and inclusive for all.

In my free time I enjoy crafting and working with different medias. Taking my dog out on adventures and camping. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends doing game nights and traveling!
